A chance encounter on a flight to Mallorca in 1999 laid the foundations for one of techno’s most enduring partnerships. Bringing together the contrasting musical backgrounds of Igor Tchkotoua and Dan Duncan, Pig&Dan have spent over two decades developing a sound that balances driving percussion, hypnotic grooves and melodic depth. Their early association with Sven Väth’s Cocoon Recordings helped establish their reputation, followed by a prolific run of releases on Drumcode, Bedrock, Soma, Plus 8 and their own ELEVATE imprint. Chart-topping productions including Growler and Chemistry, alongside their acclaimed Modular Baptism album, cemented their standing within the international techno scene. Yet their musical curiosity extends well beyond peak-time dancefloors, with their Destination Unknown albums exploring downtempo, dub and ambient influences. From Tomorrowland and Awakenings to Ibiza’s Amnesia and Tokyo’s Womb, Pig&Dan continue to explore the meeting point between techno’s physical intensity and its more emotive possibilities.
