Budakid

For Budakid, music has always been less a profession than a creative necessity. Born into a musical family with Indonesian heritage, the Dutch artist began as a drummer before discovering electronic production, eventually developing a sound that brings together cinematic atmospheres, intricate rhythms and emotionally charged melodies. Now based in Berlin, Kevin Huizing has spent over two decades refining his craft, with releases on respected labels including Anjunadeep, Lost & Found, Diynamic, Watergate and Permanent Vacation, earning support from Adriatique, Hernán Cattáneo, Bonobo and Dixon. Having performed more than a thousand shows across the globe, his commitment to creative independence led to the launch of his own Flores imprint in 2024. That vision culminated in his debut album, Dreams Stretched Beyond, released in July 2026, a deeply personal project exploring the possibilities of electronic music beyond conventional club structures.
