The DJ’s DJ and pivotal architect of modern club culture...
Born in Brooklyn, Danny Tenaglia began his journey spinning records in New York’s roller discos before moving to Miami in 1985, where his residency at Cheers helped define the city’s emerging house sound. Returning to New York in the ’90s, he became a master remixer and producer, crafting standout work for Madonna, Jamiroquai, and The Daou—blending soulful rhythm with forward-thinking club production.
His debut album Hard & Soul and the timeless anthem Elements marked a new chapter in deep, percussive dance music. As a resident at Twilo, Tunnel, and later his legendary Be Yourself nights at Vinyl, Tenaglia became known for marathon sets that transcended genres and eras.
Celebrated as a true “DJ’s DJ,” he has earned Grammy nominations, industry awards, and global respect through iconic mixes such as Global Underground: Athens and London. Decades on, Danny Tenaglia remains a guiding force in electronic music—his passion, humility, and instinct continuing to inspire dancers and artists around the world.
