Dory

For Dory, the most compelling electronic music is as much about what lingers after the dancefloor as what happens on it. The Korean-American DJ and producer, now based in Portugal, draws on years spent immersed in underground scenes across Chicago, San Francisco, Miami and New York, where she became a familiar presence at Cityfox warehouse parties. Her sound favours hypnotic rhythms, rich textures and patient progression, an approach that has taken her to Amsterdam Dance Event, BPM Festival and Robot Heart at Burning Man, sharing lineups with Sasha & Digweed, Adriatique and Patrice Bäumel. A move from New York to Portugal has brought renewed focus to her studio work, while her monthly Onda Sonora show on Proton Radio offers another outlet for her wide-ranging musical interests. Whether producing, performing or curating, Dory approaches electronic music with an emphasis on depth, atmosphere and longevity.
