Lemon8

From Rotterdam's early club scene to the foundations of progressive house, LEMON8 has spent decades translating the raw energy of the dancefloor into enduring electronic music.

Long before progressive house found its footing, Harry Lemon was already exploring the possibilities of electronic dance music. Beginning his career spinning hip-hop and funk in Rotterdam during the 1980s, the Dutch DJ and producer went on to become a resident at the influential Nighttown club, where he developed the instincts that would shape his work as LEMON8. Early productions such as Model8 and The Bells of Revolution established his reputation, while his Inner Sanctuary Sessions series, featuring progressive landmarks Triple Funk, The Only Way and Tunnelvision, introduced his sound to an international audience. His productions and remixes have since found favour with some of the scene's most respected selectors, including John Digweed, whose Bedrock label became another outlet for his music. Despite his considerable studio legacy, Lemon has always regarded DJing as his most personal form of expression, treating each set as an opportunity to capture the spontaneous energy and magic of the dancefloor.
