Since joining forces in 2009, Frankey & Sandrino have built a reputation for electronic music that prizes curiosity over convention. The German duo's breakthrough came with Acamar on Innervisions in 2015, a defining release that introduced their distinctive blend of hypnotic grooves, emotive melodies and understated tension to a wider audience. Their exploratory approach has since found a home on labels including Kompakt, Mule Musiq and Diynamic, while their own Sum Over Histories imprint, launched in 2016, has become an outlet for adventurous, genre-fluid productions. Equally comfortable navigating house, techno and trance influences, their DJ sets favour patient progression and moments of unexpected euphoria, taking them to dancefloors including London's fabric, Berlin's Watergate and Montreal's Stereo. More than a decade into their partnership, Frankey & Sandrino continue to follow their instincts rather than the prevailing trends of electronic music.
