Hyunji-A

Classically trained in piano from the age of four, Hyunji-A brings a musician’s understanding of melody and harmony to the deeper corners of progressive and melodic house. The Korean-Canadian DJ and producer developed her sound within Montreal’s electronic music scene before relocating to Berlin, combining emotive arrangements, hypnotic rhythms and cinematic atmospheres into productions that favour subtlety and depth. Her music has found homes on respected imprints including Hernán Cattáneo’s Sudbeat and Guy J’s Armadillo Records, earning support from both artists. Releases such as Speck of Dust, Staggered Dominos and her collaboration with Tantum, Keep My Letters, reflect her evolving studio approach, while performances at Montreal institutions including Stereo, Igloofest and Piknic Électronik have helped establish her international presence. With an instinct for musical storytelling shaped by her classical foundations, Hyunji-A continues to carve out her own space within contemporary progressive house.
